World famous for many reasons, the Montserrat mountain might well be one of the most special places on Spanish soil. One of them is the work of Mother Earth: its peculiar rock formations provided its name - literally "Jagged Mountain" in Catalan. It is also the site of a Benedictine abbey, the Santa Maria de Montserrat, host to the Virgin of Montserrat sanctuary. And some believe it´s the location of the Holy Grail in Arthurian Myth. All this turned Montserrat into a world famous religious retreat, and many pilgrims from all over the planet visit it at least once in their lives. Whether you´re religious or not, this is your chance to live a truly impacting experience.
The second part of our tour brings you to the Catalan wine country, where delicious Cava - the Catalan version of the French Champagne - is being produced. All together, our Montserrat & Cava tour is a great combination for an unforgettable day.
After pick-up from your hotel, we´ll drive up to the Montserrat monastery, about 30 miles west of the city of Barcelona, at an altitude of over 4000 feet. This journey is an experience by itself: it offers great views on picturesque landscapes from the comfort of our luxury mini-vans. At arrival you´ll have the time to visit the monastery, take a hike into the mountain, and the opportunity to enjoy lunch at the panorama restaurant (around 10€). After lunch we´ll get back into the van, and drive you down some beautiful tiny roads to the valleys, where you´ll visit the vineyards and cellars of Catalonias best Cava-winery. Of course there´ll be a tasting session and you can buy wonderful memorials in their little shop. All in all, a day full of impressions and experiences, lived in a comfortable and intimate environment.

Booking Policy After filling out the reservation form on the next page, you´ll receive an e-mail confirming your request. After checking availability you´ll have to confirm your reservation by either sending per e-mail a document confirming your stay and/or arrival, or by paying a deposit of 30% of the total booking price through PayPal. After this, you will receive your final Booking Confirmation.
Cancellation Policy To receive a full refund, reservations must be canceled at least 14 days before the tour date. For more info, see our Terms and Conditions.
Availability and tour type The prices per person per tour are prices per seat of a total of 8 seats. If your group, including you, is smaller than or equal to 6 persons, Private Tours Barcelona reserves the right to occupy the remaining seats with other clients. To avoid this, select "private" on the reservation form. Note: this will affect the total booking price.
